Pregnancy & Birth

Doulas work with many different women in all types of births. All women benefit from the presence of a doula. Doulas attend natural births, epidural births, vaginal birth after cesarean births (VBACs), and cesarean births. Doulas work with each woman in the context of her own birth to provide support and to create a warm and encouraging birth environment.

My Support

I will meet with you before birth to discuss your history, plans, and preferences so that I have a clear understanding of your needs and you have a chance to get to know me, review and practice comfort techniques, and speak with me about any concerns or questions you may have.

During your birth, I will provide continuous, compassionate and uninterrupted support to you and your partner. I will attend to your comfort and provide guidance in non-pharmacological pain relief measures such as: breathing and relaxation techniques, massage, and positioning.

If you are planning to get an epidural, I can still be extremely helpful, keeping you as comfortable as possible during your entire labour and birth.

During postpartum visit (has to be scheduled within two weeks following birth) we will talk about the birth, take a look at how the baby is feeding (whether you choose to breastfeed or not), and assess how life with the new baby is going. I can also watch the baby, so you can take a shower or nap.

I do not consider myself a professional photographer. However I am confident I will be able to capture some beautiful images upon request.

If you do choose to have me attend your birth, there is a 40% non-refundable retainer, and we will sign a contract. The remainder of your fee will be due by our second prenatal meeting.

Regular Package:
My fee is $1,200 and it includes:

• Two prenatal visits (1-1.5 hours)
• Continuous unlimited availability by phone/Skype/email/text to answer questions and provide resources from the moment you sign the contract and after your birth
• 24/7 availability two weeks prior to your guess date until the birth
• Continuous personal support during labour at your home and/or birth facility beginning when you feel you need me and up to two hours (or longer, if you’ll need me) after your birth to assist with nursing, take photos or anything else you may need
• One postpartum visit (1-1.5 hours)

Basic Package:
My fee is $1,000 (has to be fully paid before I go on-call) and it includes:

• 24/7 availability two weeks prior to your guess date until the birth
• Continuous personal support during labour at your home and/or birth facility beginning when you feel you need me and up to two hours (or longer, if you’ll need me) after your birth to assist with nursing, take photos or anything else you may need

Photography (for doula clients; photography only package also available):
My fee is $200 (can be paid after previewing a contact sheet)
